Andrew
Gurman joins Michael Lord & Company
Michael Lord & Company proudly announces
the addition of Andrew Gurman as a Vice
President, Recruiting. Andrew’s
addition will allow the company to provide
its growing client base with more efficient
placement services and access to a wider
variety of top-notch candidates. Andrew
will focus on the placement of associates
and partners at law firms and corporations
in all practice areas. Prior to joining
the company, Andrew was an associate
in the Employment Law Departments of Paul,
Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP
and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLC
in New York. Andrew earned his B.A.
in
Psychology,
summa cum laude, from Yale
University in 1998, and his J.D. from
Harvard Law
School in 2001. Prior to private practice,
Andrew served as a law clerk to Judge
John C. Lifland, United States District
Judge, District of New Jersey. Andrew
is active with the Yale Alumni Schools
Committee, the Harvard Law School Association
of New York City, the New York City
Bar, and the American Association of
Individual
Investors.

Quoted in Compliance Reporter
Michael Lord was quoted in an article entitled “Compliance
Officers Bonuses Increase” in the January
8, 2007 edition of the Compliance
Reporter. Lord
said that the continued  “demand
for compliance officers at the middle
level” was
one of the driving forces behind an increase
in the amount
of bonuses for compliance officers at
major hedge funds and institutional money
managers.
